Improv Club at Montgomery is an after school activity that takes place in Room 13, starting at 4 PM and ending at 6 PM every Wednesday. It is a place to have fun and perform without being in an actual performance art class. Or, if you aren’t comfortable with being on stage, it is a great source of entertainment for a couple of hours each week. Every club meeting is full of laughs and fun with all of the games that are played and the people there create a friendly environment for everyone to coexist in. You don’t have to have acting experience to join! The club meetings could be considered rehearsals (as much as one can rehearse improvisation) for a show that they will put on each semester.
For those who don’t know what improv is, it is a form of theater that surrounds acting on the spot, often with completely random scene topic ideas from members of the audience. The club is gearing up to put on a performance November 19th at 7 PM in Montgomery’s Performing Arts Center where some of the strongest improv actors they have will go up on stage and play the games that they have played every week at the club. If you want to go, tickets are $7 for students and general admission is $10, so feel free to go with friends or bring some family to watch and support this fantastic club at Montgomery.
